Your fundraiser, in three steps.
Keep the conversation in your group. Keep one clear record of contributions here.
M-Chango records contributions. It does not collect, transfer or independently verify payments. Only record money you have confirmed receiving.
Give your group a place to follow progress
Sign in, choose Create fundraiser, and add a name, purpose and the M-Pesa number receiving payments. Add a target if you have one.
Your account keeps your fundraisers together. Contributors do not need an account to view the shared page.
Add the money you have received
Choose Add contribution and enter the contributor’s name and amount. Confirm receipt before saving.
Already keeping a list? Choose Paste a list or receipt. Review the proposed entries, correct any mistakes, and confirm what you received before importing.
An optional sender phone number and M-Pesa reference stay private. Use Edit to correct an entry; removed entries can be restored.
Keep everyone in the loop
Choose Prepare WhatsApp list, then Copy contribution list. Paste it into your group to share contributors, amounts, total and target balance without asking people to open a link.
Use View shared page to preview the public ledger. You can also copy a short update with its link from the sharing panel.
Names are hidden by default. Check Fundraiser settings before sharing; entries marked Hide name stay anonymous.
A few useful answers
What can people see on the shared page?
The fundraiser’s purpose, payment number, target, recorded total and contributions. Names appear only when your visibility settings allow it. Your management controls, sender phone numbers and payment references are private.
How do I show contributor names?
Open Fundraiser settings and enable Show contributor names publicly. An individual contribution’s Hide name setting still takes priority. Make sure contributors are comfortable having their names shared.
What happens when I close a fundraiser?
Closing stops new ledger entries. It does not stop people sending M-Pesa payments to your number. Tell your group when fundraising ends. You can reopen it in Fundraiser settings.
Can I save a copy of my ledger?
Choose Export CSV in your private ledger. It is your organizer record and can include private details, so share it carefully. Use the WhatsApp list or public page for group updates.
